In case of mechanical trouble, it’s nice to know about the bike shops near the trail. Not all shops that rent bikes will rent for multi-day trips. Most of the shops listed below are within 3 miles of the trail. We have listed a few that are further so that there is coverage every 15 to 20 miles. Washington and Pittsburgh have many other shops, but they are all further then 3miles.
As of Oct 2020 most bike shops are out of new bikes, and are getting only sporadic supplies. Several of the shops below are closed for the winter season, however some will answer the phone and are open for appointments. We are not personally familiar with most of these shops, therefore present this information as a service; it is not a review or recommendation.
